Contribute
Send us your essay — and what it built.
Stencil is small, deliberate, and open. We're growing it on purpose. Open submissions for new essays start Q3 2026 — until then, contributions go through direct conversation.
If you have an essay in mind
Email p.a.mistani@gmail.com with a short pitch — one paragraph on the idea, one paragraph on what you'd build alongside it (a skill? a benchmark? a small experiment?). We'll talk about scope, format, DOI minting, and how the skill fits the plugin's namespace.
If you want to contribute a skill
Anyone can propose a skill on the plugin repo. Click Propose a skill below to open the GitHub new-file UI with a frontmatter template. Edit, commit, open a PR — the maintainers review, sometimes ask for revisions, and merge. Once merged, your skill appears in the registry here, attributed to you.
What we publish
- Paradigm notes — position arguments about how simulation should be built.
- Design proposals — concrete architectures, numerical methods, or operating models.
- Contrarian takes — arguments that the consensus is wrong, with evidence.
- Experiment reports — small, sharp investigations whose result improves a skill or atom.
What we don't publish
Generic literature reviews. Marketing for proprietary tools. Anything that could just as well live on Medium. We publish work that moves a skill — that you'd be willing to write into a plugin everyone can use.
Early collaborators
The plugin discussions are open for anyone who wants to talk through a skill idea before formalizing it.
